2 Diaper Cakes

I hardly had any sleep last night so today I can barely keep my eyes open. Why? I was making two diaper cakes for a co-worker who will be giving them to a mutual friend as a gift. I had fun making the cakes last night and want to share some pictures of how they turned out.

My Ho Ho Home

Everything but the red place mat is from the thrift store. The 100 piece Blue and White Antique English China was purchased by my mother for $90.00. Yes $90.00 what I find so amazing about the china is that every set of plates has its own design. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. Thanks again mom you rock.

I purchased the sparkly fruit with my friend Janet last yr. at Joann's for about $5.00 and took it out the box this yr to display. The bowl and vase I already had. Those where $1.00 each at my favorite dollar store The Dollar Tree. The Joy tea light candle holder was a thrift store find.
This cute Holiday candle set is also a thrift store find. Its super cute and still new.

Vintage snow couple and joy fragrance holder thrifstore finds
Pretty Mrs. Snowman thriftstore find. I use her as a napking holder.

Crate & Barrel snowman mugs .40 each at the thrifstore. Candle and plates also thriftstore.
"Families are forever, Love never melts" I saw this at the thrifstore and thought it was sweet. .90
Vintage Christmas all from the thrift
He He He I don't know why but this makes me smile. I think its the reindeer also thrift.

Winter Wonder Wood Wreath, yup thrift
Hand Painted silly Metal Snowman. Again thrift store find :)

P.S. Those twigs are from a flower arrangement my friend Cecy gave me at her wedding this yr. I could not bare to toss them. So I took a vase and added some pebbles and came up with this. Not bad for a $0.00 craft huh.
My dad remodeled my bathroom this yr. I picked the vanity, mirror and toilet. I think it turned out cute. Remodel on a budget couldn't look better :)
I love my fabric shower curtain. I bought it at Marshall's for $12.00.

So there you go. A little peak into my tiny place in the world. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. If you have any holiday home decor pictures I would love to see them.

Project 365 update

Hello everyone,
I know we are all busy with the holidays coming up, but do you have anything planned for 2011, aside from the New Years’ Resolutions that will be left behind by mid-February (I’m just acknowledging the facts) is there anything else that will keep your cold days warm or your evenings from searching through you tube for one more funny video because you just don’t know what else to do.
Well we might have the thing for you. Beginning January 1, 2011 we will be embarking on a project…PROJECT 365. You’re wondering what cheesy thing could this be…well I beg to differ this is not cheesy if anything this is your chance to capture 365 days of non-cheesy...here’s what you do, you take one photo a day (hence the 365), each day has an assigned person, place or thing to photograph. The goal is that at the end of the year you can view your life for the past 365 days. Now you’re thinking oh my that is a lot of work…well I’m telling you it isn’t. How long can it take you to snap a photo? Think about it, at the end of the year you can complete an album and along the way you’ll learn new tricks/tips from other photographers, you’ll also get a chance to play with that expensive (or not so expensive) camera of yours…all camera types welcome even from your phone, the point is to sort of document your life through your camera teach yourself new techniques and grow…grow as a photographer and the ability to see everyone else and how they view the same things through their cameras.

So come join us (Crafty Susanita and Nomee Creations) on this 1 year journey….to register go to http://project365.forumotion.com/ get acquainted with the site and be ready to start posting your photos January 1, 2010

Here is January’s Calendar of what to photograph, we made it pretty easy to start, we want to make sure you’re not discouraged right away.

I’m also looking for a good deal for those registered to get a discount on a book at the end of the year where you can have all of your photos printed. I’ll post more as I find out more further into the year.

Dreaming of Project 365: Taking a photo a day to see my life in a whole new way!

Let me start by saying I’m excited, anxious and scared to start this project. Some of you guys might already know but for those who don’t here is the info on what the 365 project is all about. The 365 project is a photography project where you document a year of your life by taking a daily photo.

My friend Noemi ( Nommee Creations) and I decided to participate in this project starting January 1st 2011. Being the creative people we are LOL we decided to add more to this project (as if it wasn’t enough) we will be creating a scrapbook page once a week on Tuesday and a double page of all the pictures taken that week on Saturday.

We welcome others to join. You don’t have to take on the full 365 project. You can take the 365 photo project or one scrapbook page a week. Why join? Think about it. How cool will it be to look back at any day of the year and see what you did, who you spent your day with or even what you had to eat. It only takes a few minutes each day. No fancy camera required. Cell phone camera will do just fine. It will most definitely improve your photography skills and will help you remember and relieve forgotten moments.

Sneak peak of the 365 Project and more details coming soon.

On another note, I’ve been busy making digital scrapbook pages and would love to share them with you.

Thanks Giving 2010

Hope everyone had a wonderful thanks giving day. We spent thanksgiving at my older Brothers Saul’s house as we’ve done for the past couple yrs. The food was great and we had a great time catching up with the siblings. I took a break from cooking and baking this yr. but I did take my appetite to the party LOL. We had the usual food plus a new dish my brother in law Ruben made. Lechon (a pork dish) was delish and that was gone before the Turkey. After all the food and desert we played Loteria (Mexican bingo) and I won a whole $1.00 lol hey at least I didn’t loose. As usual I took my third baby and snapped as many pictures as I could. My family already knows I carry my Nikon with me for most occasions so they get extra spiffy for the picture taking. I'm making a small album with  the Thanksgiving pictures I took and have already started scrapping some pages. Thanks to Suzzee Q's sfuff I picked up some quick pages. The book will be finished in a jiffy. Here is a scrap page i made and the quick pages. The quick pages i picked up are amazing and Suzze Q's stuff is one of the best places you can get scrapbook freebies.

This is the scrap page i made

Again thanks to all the wonderful designers for these amazing quick pages. They make it possible to turn all those special moments I capture extra special. I hate not mentioning designers but if you click on Suzze Q's stuff above, you can see these quickpages and more.
